What to expect during homeopathic consultation

A homeopathic consultation is an in-depth interview. It is very important to not only understand physical complaints of the person, but also the mental and emotional aspects of their personality to prescribe a remedy successfully. Because of this holistic approach, the initial consultation for a chronic case usually lasts 1,5-2 hours. Chronic cases cannot be resolved after one visit, so follow up interviews will be necessarily. They are shorter, lasting about 45mins -1 hour (if the person is doing well they can be even shorter).

How long will it take to feel a difference

Homeopathic treatment is a very gentle way to improve your health. The speed of healing will depend on many factors: the duration of the time you felt unwell, your commitment to the treatment plan, the amount of prescription medicines you take, your lifestyle and many others.
As a general guide, you have to allow approximately one month of treatment for each year you have been unwell.

Who I am and who I am not

I am a classical homeopath – not a naturopath or a herbalist. I am also not a medical doctor, so I cannot diagnose or treat any special condition. Please stay in touch with your GP and never stop your medications when you decide to choose homeopathy.

I will be looking for the best remedy that will allow your body to heal itself. This process can take time, but is worth it when you try and wait for the results.

Make a wish for a better health!

If you want to learn a little bit more about homeopathy you can read this brochure created by National Center of Homeopathy.

If you you want to go more in depth in your understanding, you can read the book “Homeopathy. Beyond Flat Earth Medicine” by Timothy R. Dooley, N.D., M.D. (you can read it online here).

Acute prescription means that we are dealing with an illness of abrupt onset and a self-limiting character, requiring immediate attention. It can be a cold, an ear ache, an ankle sprain, an insect sting, a sore throat, etc. Please always use your common sense: severe situations require immediate medical attention or even a call to 911. For example, broken bones need to be set by the doctor! Homeopathy can be used later as a supplement to speed the healing of the fracture, but not instead of direct medical attention.

Chronic prescription (also called a constitutional prescription) is addressing an illness that has troubled the person for quite a while, i.e. chronic disease.

A consultation for acute illness is usually shorter than for a chronic one and we will focus on your main complaint only, discussing what started it and when, where it is, how it feels, what makes it better or worse, and if it is accompanied by something else. (This something else has also appeared recently, along with main complaint).

For chronic cases the consultation is longer (up to two hours), and I will ask all kinds of questions about all aspects of your life (physical, emotional, mental).  I need to understand what kind of person you are, your desires and aversions in different areas of your life. For example, I may ask you about dreams and hobbies.

This one is usually related to chronic cases. After the initial consultation you will receive your remedy with instructions on how to take it. We will need to schedule a follow up consultation in about 4-6 weeks to assess your progress and to see what is the next step in your treatment. You’ve been living with chronic disease for quite a while, so treatment will also take some time to see long-lasting results.

Please store them in a cool dry place (not in refrigerator), away from any heat, electronics, direct sunlight or strong smells.

It depends on the case. I will give you instructions on how to take them when I am giving you your remedy. The general idea is to take them 20 (or more) minutes before any meal or brushing your teeth or 1 hour (or more) after.

Please contact me, and I will be happy to answer them!
